8 Tips That Will Get You A Really Cheap Airplane Ticket Online

Nowadays it is easy to find a really cheap airplane ticket online. It is also very convenient.

Online ticket agencies often offer cheaper rates than usual, and the buying process is quick, easy, and convenient. However, to avoid unpleasant surprises and high ticket prices, it is important to take the following facts into account before making a reservation.

1. Book early

If possible, make sure you book your tickets at least 21 days before your departure. Prices tend to fluctuate all the time, but most of the time if you buy early – you will increase your chances of getting a really cheap airplane ticket.

2. Pick good dates

Flying on weekdays is usually cheaper than flying on weekends. It is best to include a Saturday in your trip too. For example, flying from Wednesday to Monday is usually cheaper than flying from Sunday to Friday. Take seasons and holidays into account as well. Travelling on January 4 will probably be cheaper than travelling on January 2. Late night and early morning flights often tend to be cheaper too. When you search online, just try different dates and see what you can get.

3. Be flexible

You might get a better rate if you pick a flight with a stop-over over a direct flight. You might want to try landing at a different airport that is not too far from your destination. Decide if you are willing to do this in order to get a really cheap airplane ticket.

4. Get a package deal

If you book a flight, hotel and car rental together, you are more likely to get a good deal.

5. Get Frequent Flyer Miles

Try to fly on the same airline whenever you travel. That way you will build up frequent flyer miles, which you can eventually redeem for free tickets. I’m sure you will agree that getting a free trip is even better than finding that really cheap airplane ticket…

6. Check out discount rates

If you are a student, senior, or military personnel, it will be easier for you to find a really cheap airplane ticket, as you will often get extra discounts. The major online ticketing agencies will give you the option to search for these special rates.

7. Understand what you are buying

Make sure you read and understand the ticket limitations and refund restrictions before you buy airplane tickets online. You will want to know if you can exchange a ticket in case you need to do so, or to get a refund if you miss your flight. All restrictions will be displayed in the booking process before you pay for the tickets.

8. Use a Good Ticketing Agency

Always reserve with a reputable ticketing agency. Even a really cheap airplane ticket will not be cheap if you get stuck with hidden fees or without a ticket at all.

If you follow the tips above, it should not be a problem for you to get a really cheap airplane ticket online. Just keep these tips in mind and enjoy your trip!

How to Get Access to PC Flight Simulators Online

If you are into PC games and like aircrafts, then why not try the combination of PC flight simulators that you can download and play online. This article will show you how to go about choosing the best aircraft simulation game.

Just a brief search online for games like this will bring back a ton of options. The way to find an aircraft game that you will really enjoy is to look for the games that are realistic. As you know graphics and technology these days make most games seem like reality but when it comes to PC airplane games, you need more than just fancy graphics. Instead it would be great if you were able to learn about aircraft mechanics and navigation and playing an airplane game that mimics the real thing.

To access these type of real aircraft games, look at flight simulator reviews or go online and find some forums and see what people are commenting on. Most people in those situations have bought and are using one of the flight sim games so can tell you honestly what they are like. It’s a good idea to hear what actual pilots are saying about the product too. Look out for comments about the flight simulator cockpit and aircraft instruments and the actual flying of the aircraft.

We all would like the best airplane simulation games and not just popular games. Of course it depends on your budget but a lot of the best airplane games out there are now a lot cheaper than they used to be. That is because of competition in the market. Flight simulator providers constantly have to update and improve their software in order to keep up with the new developments all the time. It’s a bit like Microsoft versus Mac!

What really makes the aircraft package that much more realistic is the add-on packs that sometimes come with the software, so look out for these too. Things like scenery add-ons, aircraft add-ons and country add-ons will be part of what makes the difference. Other things like real time synch and the ability to add in hardware such as joysticks, switch boards and peddles will also enhance your playing experience.

The thing is, and this is what you must look for when you do research, is that not all aircraft simulator games will have all these features, so take a careful look at the features list and don’t only be tempted to get something with great graphics. As we said before, reviews can give you a good idea so get a few of these and then narrow down your search.

What You Need to Apply For Flight Attendant Openings

When you are looking for a job as a flight attendant, there are several places you can look to find flight attendant openings. Since the major employers in the air transportation business are airlines, you can check the websites of the airlines to see if they do have a need for flight attendants and are hiring. Some large corporations with private jets also have need for flight attendants from time to time and they may post the ads in magazines related to their business or to air travel. There are also job search sites on the Internet where you can find postings for flight attendant jobs. If you post your resume and cover letter to these sites, when an opening comes up you will get an email alerting you to the posting.

In order to determine whether or not you qualify for a flight attendant opening when it is posted, you do have to read the ad to find the qualifications that the employer is looking for in the applicants. The minimum level of education required by all airlines is a high school diploma, but this is just the minimum. Most of the flight attendants that are hired today have a college or university degree. Even though this education does not give you the training you need to work as a flight attendant, it shows the employer that you are willing to work hard in school to better yourself.

One of the major qualifications that you will need to be successful in obtaining a position as a flight attendant is exceptional customer service skills. You don’t necessarily need to have experience in this area because it will come with practice once you start the training for the job. However, if you do have experience and have a good reference to attest to this, you have a better chance of getting the job. Many people don’t even realize that they do have this experience and never put it on their resume because they think they should only list the skills that are related to other aspects of air travel. If you worked in any area in which you dealt with the public, you should list this on your resume as customer service.

Fluency in more than one language is one of the qualifications that will really make your application for the job stand out. Airlines fly all over the world and deal with customers that speak many different languages. Fluency in English is a requirement and unless you are fluent in English you will not get a job as a flight attendant in any English speaking country.

You do need to have a passport because of the different countries you will be flying into. You must also be neat in appearance, with no tattoos, visible body piercings or wear offensive jewellery. You must also be willing to relocate in some cases when you apply for one of the openings for flight attendants and of course, you must be willing to work shifts that will require you to be away from home for short periods of time.

Inexpensive Airplane Tickets – 3 Steps to Getting the Best Deals on Airline Travel Anywhere!

Inexpensive airplane tickets can be hard to come by, even though many of the sites that you see on TV and all over the internet claim they can get you the lowest prices possible. However, I am sure that you have heard of or know people who travel all around the world for very low prices and I bet you are wondering how do they do that? Here I am going to show you 3 things you can do to get the best deals on airline travel.

1. The first thing that you want to consider is to take a flight that leaves or arrives at an odd time. This is going to really increase your chances of getting inexpensive airline tickets because the demand for these tickets is much less. You are then in a position to talk with the airlines and get them to lower the prices.

2. Secondly you can always contact the airlines to get the best deals. It is amazing that more people do not think to do this, but it really does work if you do it right. The key is to call the hotline at the right time in order to get the best deals. Often times the airlines update the systems at midnight and will have deals on there that are not even advertised. This is a great way to get cheap plane tickets to any destination.

3. The third thing that you can do is to make sure that you know someone in the business. This is by far the best method for getting inexpensive plane tickets. Whether it is a former employee or a current one, these people know how to get you deals, and simply put you will not believe some of the prices that you can get with these little known methods.

Suitcase Packing Tips – How to Do it Just Right

A suitcase is an essential part of any trip and there is an art to packing a suitcase. Whether you’re getting ready for a two-week dream trip or just a weekend getaway, a well packed suitcase of essential clothes, accessories, and toiletries can make your trip a little easier and more enjoyable. When it comes to packing for a trip, some people end up stuffing their suitcases with too many items that end up not being used during the trip. The image comes to mind of packing a suitcase really full, so you’re sitting on that suitcase trying to squash it together so it will close. The question to be answered is how do you pack without taking too much? As long as you pack only the necessary stuff, you’ll have more than enough room for everything that you will be bringing plus you’ll have some space saved for souvenirs or items that you may pick up along your trip. The following tips are to help you without worrying about packing too much or not enough.

Plan.

Don’t wait until the last minute. Being in a rush forces you to make irrational decisions while you’re in a frenzy throwing things into your suitcase. This is the perfect set up for over packing. Everything you bring should serve a purpose and must be used on the trip or leave it home.

Start planning about one week ahead.

Make a written list of what you’ll need to pack based on your destination. Lay everything out on your bed and determine which is absolutely necessary.

Consider where you’re going and pack accordingly.

The first step is to determine your priorities based the kind of trip you are taking. Will you need any formal or semi-formal items? What will the weather be like? Will I blend in or look like a tourist? Are there any cultural considerations?

Basic wardrobe considerations.

Don’t take anything that wrinkles. Nylon and cotton blends work best. You also need to limit the number of pairs of shoes you take. Don’t take more than three pairs. They take up the most bulk in a suitcase. Take neutral colors that can match any clothing you bring. Also take clothing items that mix and match easily with each other so you can make multiple outfits out of a few major pieces.

Limit accessories.

Accessories will add the most bulk to your suitcase. If there are things that you absolutely have to take because they will not be available where you are going, then by all means take them. If you travel frequently, consider buying a travel size or the lightest and most compact version available. Hair dryers and irons are better off at home. Most hotels have them-call ahead and check.

Be conservative with jewelry choices.

Jewelry is an item that can attract thieves. Be careful so that your choices don’t attract attention. Since jewelry is small and the fact that these items are usually taken off daily, the likelihood of misplacing or losing them altogether rises. To avoid losing them, leave jewelry items on all the time. Pick items that can be worn with everything. If you do take additional jewelry with you, keep them on your person or with your carry-on bag.

Make the most of the space you have.

You can stuff shoes with any items that you don’t need to worry about wrinkling (bras, underwear, socks, toiletries). It’s always good to line the perimeter of your suitcase with the soles of your shoes pointing toward the outside and place the bulky items on the bottom and use this as the framework to pack around. You can also place belts opened and around the perimeter of the suitcase rather than coiled up to avoid more bulk. Remember that you can always pack light and shop for what you need at your destination.

Items that might come in handy:

A small poncho raincoat; small sewing kit; several plastic bags – handy for packing a wet swimsuit, lingerie that is not quite dry, or soiled items; en extra collapsible bag that can be checked for all the souvenirs you’ll be bringing home, a few extra hangers, liquid soap for hand washing.

Being fully prepared for a trip doesn’t always mean being fully loaded in your suitcase. Following a few simple tips can help you get to your destination with everything you need and nothing more-or less.

Ever Wonder How Brakes Stop Your Car?

The braking system for present day automobiles has benefited from repeated improvements for well over 100 years. Disk brakes in front make up the standard braking system, while the back includes either drum or disk brakes. A network hoses and tubes connect the brakes, linking to the master cylinder from each wheel. The power brake booster, the anti-lock system and parking brakes also link into the braking system.

Brake fluid jets through a network of hoses and tubes at each wheel when your foot contacts the brake pedal through a plunger located in the master cylinder. Brake fluid, which is a hydraulic, lacks compressibility and is akin to pushing a steel rod through a pipe. Fluid however, unlike a steel pipe allows for direction and therefore, it arrives with the same precise motion and intensity as its beginnings. It is imperative that the fluid consist of pure liquid without air bubbles.

Air is compressible and creates a spongy feeling in the brake pedal while hindering the brakes effectiveness. At each wheel cylinder and caliper, you will find bleeder screws. The screws serve the purpose of bleeding the brake lines of compressed air. The two types of brake systems, disk and drum brakes, operate just a bit differently.

The disk brake uses fluid from the master cylinder forcing the fluid in the caliper, pressing against a piston. This piston, then presses the brake pads snuggly with the disk rotor fixed to the wheel. This causes it to slow or come to a stop. The function compares to bicycle braking which involves two rubber pads pressing against the rim of the wheel applying friction to slow down and stop.

Drum brakes on the other hand jets fluid into a wheel cylinder and in turn forces the brake shoes in an outward motion, applying pressure against the drum fixed to the wheel and bringing it to a stop. Whether it is the surface friction of pads or shoes on the drum brake, forward motion of the car creates heat. Heat supplies the driving force behind the friction surface of shoes and pad, wearing them out over time and demanding replacement.

In modern automobiles, the disk brake has the best performance. From trains to airplanes, disk brakes are the preferred choice. Disk brakes simply last much longer, are less prone to disruption from water, can adjust independently, and can clean themselves. Disk brakes seldom grab or pull and are by far the superior system.

Yet, you might wonder why we still use the drum brake system. The cost factor always plays a role in the production of an automobile. In the front of all vehicles in production, manufacturers make use of disk brakes. However on the back wheels, drum brakes represent a significant cost savings.

The parking brakes presents as the main culprit. Drum brakes only require installation of a lever. However, on disk brakes, an entire mechanical system and sometimes a mechanical brake drum assembly requires attachment in the disk brake rotor. Parking brakes do not make use of hydraulics, but instead rely on mechanics.

Three Most Dangerous Landing Mistakes Pilots Make and How to Avoid Them

Over-shoot, under-shoot, loss of directional control, wing tip strikes … are all symptoms of mistakes made BEFORE the pilot touches down. Mistakes that are easily to correct – but not necessarily in a way you might think.

I landed at the Nuttree Airport in a Cessna 172 in 1968. I felt pretty smug. It was a very smooth landing, one of those landings that you could hear but not feel. Then a wind gust picked me up and I landed a second time on a parallel taxiway. The pilot taxiing in the opposite direction was kind enough (or perhaps stunned enough or frightened enough) to hold short of a turn-off so I could move over to the parking apron. I couldn’t look him in the eye as we went past. Red-faced, I mumbled some excuses to my passengers that I didn’t believe. I had just made the three biggest (and most common) mistakes a pilot can make when landing.

Determined to never let that happen again, I spend a great deal of time in the intervening 40 years thinking about how to avoid these mistakes. The NTSB says that a full 45% of the weather-related accidents are caused by crosswinds and gusts. I believe it. It is time to introduce some little known techniques that help prevent these accidents. But first, we should look at their causes.

Landing too fast is caused by flying the approach too fast or trying to force the airplane on the runway before it is ready. The solution is to fly a consistent approach at the same airspeed, picking a safe projected glide point (or PGP), and controlling the PGP until you land. But hold the airplane a foot or so off the runway until the airplane nose has rotated up to the landing attitude. Hold that attitude until the airplane lands. That way you will land at the right speed.

Failing to cross control in a crosswind leads to ground loops, being blown off the side of the runway (the MOST common cause of accidents in the United States), wing tip damage, or, in my case, flying over the infield and landing on a taxiway. To put it simply, cross controlling is using the rudder to keep the long axis of the airplane parallel to the long axis of the runway and using the ailerons to keep the airplane positioned over the runway. This guarantees that you will keep the airplane moving straight down the runway after the wheels touch.

Quit flying the plane before the plane is through flying is one of the most dangerous mistakes that a pilot could make. Its cause is lack of concentration. Its solution is good flying habits.

I was lucky at the Nuttree. If the crosswind had been coming from the opposite side, I could have been blown into a canal. Remember that just because the main gear is on the ground does not mean that there is no ‘fly’ left in the airplane. Also remember that if you keep the airplane just above the runway until it absolutely, positively will not fly any more, then it will an unusually strong gust to put it in the air again.

It is easy to be lulled into the bad habits that lead to these mistakes. When the wind is gentle and the runway is long, all will be forgiven. So the question is: how to keep these bad habits from developing?

I want to tell you about two exercises that have helped pilots more that I could have ever imagined. They are the ‘very slow Dutch roll’ and the ‘controlled projected glide’ point. Neither is difficult or dangerous. Both simplify and strengthen any pilot’s ability to land.

The very slow Dutch roll is a simple exercise done at a safe altitude. It teaches two very important skills. First the pilot learns to continuously move the stick and rudders to control the airplane as conditions change, and second, the pilot learns how to cross control the airplane in the most extreme circumstances.

Here is how to do a very slow Dutch roll. Pick a point on the horizon and hold it steady as you change the angle of bank, airspeed and flap configuration. Maintain constant altitude. Change your bank very slowly. Continue to increase the angle of bank until either the aileron or the rudder is pushed to its limit. This is the angle of bank for the maximum crosswind that the airplane can handle. The cross controlled airplane slowly accelerates to the side for a minute or two. During this time, the pilot must move the flight controls continuously as the airplane accelerates to the side – an unanticipated benefit of this exercise.

Let me tell you about the projected glide point or PGP. When you approach the runway your eye will naturally gravitate toward a point on the runway that does not move in your field of vision. The phenomenon is much like when you are on a collision course with another airplane: it stays still in your field of vision but just gets bigger. Well, there is always a point on the ground where exactly the same thing happens. This is the point that you would glide to if you never made that last little flair to land. This is an extremely valuable concept that can save you many hours of landing practice. I never heard another flight instructor talk about it but I am sure that many pilots use this technique.

You can control the PGP with power and drag while keeping the airspeed constant. To move the PGP closer to you, reduce the engine’s power or increase the airplanes drag – usually with flaps. To move the PGP away from you, increase the engine’s power or decrease the airplane’s drag.

Use the two concepts together to make consistent, safe landings. Once established on final, use the center line of the runway as your reference point for very slow Dutch rolls. Use the ailerons to position the airplane on the extended centerline, the rudder to keep the long axis of the airplane parallel to that extended centerline. Move the PGP to the same place every time. I recommend the runway threshold. Consciously continue cross controlling until the airplane slows to a taxi.

These two simple techniques will get you to the same place on the runway every time in a landing configuration that compensates for crosswinds or gusts until the airplane is going so slow that you can taxi to parking.

What You Need to Know Before Ordering Your Prefab Metal Airplane Hanger

Before ordering your new prefab metal airplane hanger, there are things you need to know, especially when it comes to the hanger fitting your plane properly. That is why the first thing you need to do is determine the size of your aircraft. If you do not have your plane yet and are wishing to order your metal airplane hanger first, you still need to know what the dimensions are in order to make sure the doorway is large enough for the plane to fit through. It is simply not enough that the building is big enough, because a door that is too small means you wouldn’t be able to put the plane inside in the first place.

The plane

If you don’t yet have your plane, there are five common models that individuals buy. Knowing these models can help you determine what you may possibly buy and what size hangar you need. Those models are:

- The Cessna 206 – There are several different variations of the 206. However, the 206 has six seats. The length of the wing span is 35ft. 10 in., the length is 28ft. 3in., and the height is 9ft 7in. It is good to note these measurements to ensure your hanger is going to be a good fit.

- The Cessna 182 Skylane – This is a very popular aircraft. It is also said that maintenance is not too bad. The measurement of the wing span is 36ft., the length is 25ft 2in., and the height is 9ft 2in.

- Piper Cherokee 180 – This plane is another popular model with a wing span of 30ft, a length of 23ft. 4in., and a height of 7ft. 4in. This makes this aircraft one of the smaller planes on the market.

- Beech 35 – The Beech has a wing span of 32ft. 10in., a length of 25ft. 2in., and a height of 7ft. 7in. This may vary based on the Beech 25 model you purchase, by only by about 1 foot in all dimensions.

- Piper PA-28 Cherokee Series – This series has a standard wing span of 35ft., a length of 23ft. 10in., and a height of 7ft. 4in.

These are some of the most common planes that you may find flying and you know that the owners have to park them somewhere. They had to get the measurements of their plane before they ever purchased a prefab metal airplane hanger to park it in.

Other things to think about

Also think about whether or not you’re going to need storage inside of your airplane hanger. You also need some room to move around if you plan on performing any type of maintenance activities inside of the hangar. Usually these activities are carried out when the plane is outside of the hanger, but there are times that maintenance may need to be performed inside. As far as storage room, some may prefer to store their tools and other maintenance materials inside of the hanger. If there isn’t sufficient room, then you may have to invest in some sort of storage building, which can be cost-effective in a sense. However, it may be more convenient and may possibly be cheaper if you can arrange a way to store items inside of the hanger.

Just take these things into consideration and you should be able to order the right size hanger with no problem at all. Most importantly, you’ll be able to protect your precious giant-sized investment and anything that you decide to house with it. You’ll also have that peace of mind that makes investing in a hanger totally priceless.

Beware of False Prophets!

“This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!” Ezekiel 13:3)

One of the biggest tragedies amongst Christians is the proliferation of seers or hearers “in the name of the Lord”; I put that in quote as it is necessary that we speak boldly about a damaging habit which is causing havoc and tarnishing the credibility of all Christians.

“Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. They say, ‘The LORD declares,’ when the LORD has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled”. (Ezekiel 13:5). God is categorically furious against those attention seekers who by the power of their own imagination continue deceiving other Christians for the sake of their own pride and desires to be important. The devil Himself is a deceiver, and uses those who without careful consultation with God, without being sure of their source are willing to open their mouths and profane the name of the Lord. I have personally been exposed several times to those charlatans, men and women who for their own gain are prepared to tell you whatever they think you want to hear. A prophet is not a bearer of good news, and does not have the ability to hammer in rapid fire prophesy for everyone as if they were pulled out of a hat or a gift bag.

God uses prophesy to build His people, to edify His church. God uses prophesy for correction, for reproof, edification and encouragement. God does not give away prophesies like candy bars, and a prophet who uses the name of the Lord in such manner is not a true prophet, but a prophet of Satan. God reveal things about individuals or groups or cities or nations, past present or future, for the purpose of building His church and preparing the hearts of those who will be saved, or to launch someone into ministry, or to force change in specific circumstances.

And those who are recipients of prophesy will always have a source of confirmation either from other prophets or by themselves directly from God. When you hear someone telling you that the Lord is going to prosper you and that the house you asked for is on its way, or that you will live many years of health and financial prosperity. When you hear someone telling you about earthly things which have nothing to do with the spirit, stop them, unless you have received specific confirmation from others and from the Lord.

The Bible does not teach that God promises reaches of success or power. The power is God’s and God’s only. The Bible teaches us that there will be suffering and persecution, and hard work on this earth, and that it is all worth it; for the things to come are far greater. God does not teach that this perishable life will be disease free or that we will not have tragedies or suffer pain. The Bible teaches us the opposite.

Jesus calls us to carry our Cross and follow him, and to leave mother and father and family and riches and follow him unconditionally. The field is rich with needs, the world is crying for help and the only help that is to come is from God through those who are willing to sacrifice their earthly lives for the sake of the gospel.

Those who use the gospel for their own gain, those who are flying in private jets and wearing expensive suits, and living in big mansions and owning great properties and thick bank accounts at the expense of innocent Christians, they are getting what they want and having their glory on this earth, and that is all they are going to get. But the day of the Lord will come and the price of their souls has already been set.

And those who by the power of deception are being lure into speaking in the name of the Lord when the Lord is not speaking will have to give account for every soul who is getting lost by their despondent arrogance and pathetic error.

I call upon those Christians whose lack of knowledge lead them to believe those charlatans, I call upon those naïve Christians who allow every babbling mouth to influence their lives, I call upon them to open their eyes and pickup their Bibles and study for themselves what a true Christian should be like and to pray for discernment to learn to detect the lies and recognize the truth.

If someone tells you “thus says the Lord” beware, chances are the Lord did not say whatever comes next.

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (I John 4:1). And today someone may be announcing the coming of Christ with great noise and still have a deceptive spirit. “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

My advice to you is, you have the same spirit that all other Christians have (if you are a Christian) so let you spirit “guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).

If you are not a Christian, my advice to you is, seek the Lord and the truth will come to you. Anyone who says to have powers to tell the past present or future without the power of the Holy Spirit comes straight from the devil. If you seek the light you will find it. The Lord is near, “knock and the door will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9).

May the Lord of truth lead you always into all truth!
