Don’t worry, we are still flying… we know it would be totally foolish to stop traveling. So how are we still flying if we are not on one of the major airlines? It’s easy enough, we have started booking flights with private jets and private charters. What?! Are we crazy? Don’t we know how expensive it is to fly on a private jet? Yes, it used to be very expensive but it’s the 21st century and even the private jet industry has realized that the internet is a beautiful thing and the best way to reach out and find new customers. What does this mean? It means that there are now ways to go online and find private flights that do not cost an arm and a leg!
Now that we have pleasantly surprised you with some exciting news, let’s keep going and talk about why it is so much better to fly on a private jet. We will start with the extravagant perks that can accompany your private flight. Do you have a favorite restaurant? If you are like most people who breathe, you do. Well, what if you could have your favorite restaurant cater your meals for your flight? You can and many people are already doing it and enjoying it. Do you need to get your yoga or full-body massage session in for the week? Many companies provide specialists who can work with you during the flight so that you are not wasting your time just sitting around. How about the highest level of concierge services? Some private jet companies will pick up your luggage at your house and it will be waiting for you at your destination. Wow, talk about ultimate laziness, but we wouldn’t mind.
Again, we need to reiterate that you do not need to spend $10 million buying your own jet. The first step you need to take is to check out the best charter companies in the industry- OneSky Jet and Stratos Jet. They both have great websites that are simple to navigate and you can book online. Flying on a charter jet is the most cost-effective way to fly privately. All you do is pay a flat fee per flight hour and the prices depend on the size of the plane, which you get to pick. OneSky is so focused on reaching out to the middle-class that they offer what is called “empty leg” flights. These are one way flights that would otherwise be empty because the owners of the jet are staying at their destination, but the jet needs to return home for a couple of days. This means that anyone can now fly on a private jet for an affordable price!
There are other options if you want to fly on a private jet, but they are still pricey. You can buy a store-value card, which works like a debit card. The only catch is that you have to put about $100,000 on your card upfront. Each time you fly, the total amount of the flight is deducted from your card. The other options is to have factional ownership of a private jet. This is basically a timeshare and the size of the shares that you buy allows you to a set amount of flying hours. Again, you will be paying hundreds of thousands per year plus monthly maintenance fees for your private jet so we don’t recommend this.
