Private Jet Charter Service Versus Private Jet Charter Membership

1. Business Travelers/Business Owners/Corporate Officials & Senior Management

Those travelling for business, senior management and corporate officials are often the most regular client base for corporate jet charter providers due to the high frequency of travel conducted by people in this segment. The missions undertaken by individuals in this segment are often complex and require private air travel not as a luxury or convenience, but rather as a necessity for business productivity and efficiency. For instance, companies that require visiting three or five cities in a single day or those taking a team of people often turn that travel time into productive work time, discuss proprietary information en route and/or move products and services that can’t be taken on commercial airlines. Paramount Business Jets strives to market itself heavily to this segment as these travelers often form the and make up 29% of the target market. In addition as these travelers are often repeat consumers they are more likely to open corporate accounts and utilize Paramount Business Jet’s ‘Jet Card’ program rather than the on-demand charter service which helps to build a stronger client base and maintains customer loyalty.

2. Celebrities/Sports Personalities

Celebrities, sports personalities and other individuals in the public lime light often choose to fly by private jet due to a multitude of reasons such as safety, privacy and of course security. While individuals in this segment may already have access to their own private aircraft, jet charter companies such as Paramount Business Jets offer these individuals a cost-effective alternative to private aircraft ownership while still maintaining the high standards of luxury, service and safety that they would come to expect of private air transportation. In addition this segment constitutes approximately 23% of the market and as such is a highly targeted market for jet charter providers. As individuals in this segment may not travel as extensively as business travelers they may be more suited to on-demand private jet charter services rather than private jet membership programs.

3. Heads of State/Royalty/Government Officials/Diplomats/Politicians

Similar to both business travelers and celebrities, royalty, government officials and politicians often need to utilize corporate charter services for business productivity, safety and security. As frequent travelers, it is very possible that individuals in this segment might already have access to other government aircraft and/or private jet ownership. Despite this, private executive charter services often are a more cost effective method of private air transportation for these individuals when utilizing their own aircraft is not an option. Individuals in this segment comprise 17% of the target market and due to their infrequent use of charter services are more suited for on-demand private jet charter services than membership programs.

4. High-net-worth Individuals

High-net-worth individuals are the most frequent users of executive charter services and constitute 29% of the target market. These individuals often either own their own aircraft or use jet charter services exclusively for both business and leisure charters. As such, this market is targeted heavily by jet charter providers and individuals often seek comfort, safety and luxury over other aspects such as cost. As regular clients and frequent travelers, individuals in this segment are more likely candidates for private jet membership programs which ultimately retain customer loyalty and guarantees repeat business.

5. Disgruntled Airline Passengers/Group Charters

As rather unlikely individuals for jet charter services, disgruntled airline passengers and group charters only make up 3% of the target market. However, individuals that are dissatisfied with airline services and those looking for group charters are continuing to increase. Combined with the decreasing cost of executive charters, this market is likely to increase in the future. As with other target markets, individuals in this segment need to be able to afford an alternative to commercial air carrier service and often use executive charter services for smaller trips and short routes. In particular, groups seeking to use jet charter services often find that jet charter are more cost effective when transporting large groups of people.

Private Pilot Cost – Understanding the Cost of a Private Pilot License

The First thing you want to do is understand what the private pilot license is going to cost you. If you have looked around my website you can see that I have an entire section on the Cost of learning to fly and the Private Pilot License Training Cost. I will outline and explain it here in this article.

Most people don’t have unlimited budgets so the most important thing to do is plan ahead so you don’t get stuck halfway through your training.

With rising fuel costs, the costs per hour for airplanes is getting more expensive. You don’t want to make the wrong choices. You want to research and plan all of your options before you start. Once you have your Private Pilot License, it is yours for the rest of your life. You will have to do a flight review every two years and meet some other requirements to carry passengers but once you get it, it is yours.

Many times I have seen students start and stop and start and stop again. Once they are finally licensed, they may have spent up to three times what they should have if they had committed to it in a short period of time.

First thing is, you need to understand that this is going to cost you more that most flight schools will put in their cost estimates. There is a difference between the FAA minimums for the Private Pilot License and the amount you are going to actually fly.

Many students will just go into a flight school and start flying. Half way thru their training, they will run out of money. Why does this happen all the time?… Because people don’t plan. It is really that simple.

First of all you want to get a REALISTIC idea of what it is going to cost you. The quotes from most flight schools are probably at least $2,000 if not more short of what you are going to actually spend.

So if you are on a tight budget for your Pilot Training I suggest you do some planning ahead. I have broken the cost of learning to fly down into four parts. I do this so you can understand what is required at each phase of your training. I make reference to the rates that I charge for the airplanes and the instructor rates. In different parts of the country this can be cheaper or more expensive. I use the C-172 for my cost estimates. There are many other airplanes out there that you can train in.

I have looked at some articles out there that say it will cost $4,000-$6,000. Maybe ten years ago but not now. If you are in a less expensive part of the country I would say that you may be able to get your license for $7,000 or so if you have a good instructor and stay on track.

Here in the phoenix area, I tell people to plan on $8,000- $9,000. That is on a steady schedule with an instructor who is dedicated and will commit to finish your training all the way through.

As I have said before there are many factors that can change the cost of your training. You have to look at all of your options before you start flying.

So lets take a look at the cost estimates. I have them broken into four sections. This way you can understand how the Pilot Training Process works.

Books and Materials

Private Pilot License – Pre Solo Training Costs

Private Pilot License – Post Solo Training Costs

Private Pilot License – Flight Test Preparation Costs

I have this broken down this way so you can see what it required of you and the cost associated with it. I will just give you the outline here and you can look at my individual articles about each one.

Private Pilot License Books and Materials Cost: This is the cost of the things you need to study for the Private Pilot Aeronautical Knowledge required and all of the other things you will need for your flight training. There are many industry standard courses out there based on the FAA publications for the Private Pilot License. They all have the same material they are just presented differently.

Private Pilot License – Pre Solo Training Costs: These are the costs that it will take you to get through the Pre Solo Phase of your training. This is the cost of all training required before your instructor can get out of the plane and let you go on your own.

Private Pilot License – Post Solo Training Costs: These are the cost that it will take you to get through the post solo phase of your flight training. This includes your cross countries, night flights and simulated instrument flight.

Private Pilot License – Flight Test Preparation Cost: This is the final phase of your flight training. In this phase your instructor will get you ready for the Private Pilot License Flight Test.

Total Private Pilot License Cost: Here in this section I put everything together so you can get a realistic idea of what it will actually cost for a Private Pilot License.

When you put all of these together, you will see there is a little bit more involved than most flight schools will lead you to believe. When you add all of these up you get a number that is somewhere around $8,500. Remember this will depend on the Aircraft and Instructor Rates but will also depend on many other factors.

Private Business Jet Charters Allow You to Fly in Style

If you are like most people, the thought of the hassles involved in booking a commercial flight is not something that you look forward to. You have to shop around, looking for the best deals and the correct connecting flights, plus you have to plan getting to the airport on time. Are you aware that private jet charters are on the rise and that they will get you to where you are going faster and at a lower cost than you thought?

A private business jet charter will ensure that you arrive on time for those important business meetings and that you will not be delayed due to airport congestion or other unforeseen reasons, saving you time and offering a stress-free way to fly that is virtually hassle-free.

The service you receive on a private jet is great. The ride is comfortable, you are offered great menus and movies to keep you entertained. There is much more leg room on a private business jet and less of a crowd. With a charter business jet flight, simply show up at the airport, board your flight and you’re off. You can even phone in your reservations when flying charter to make it even more simple.

A very important and appreciated ‘perk’ to chartering a business jet is privacy. You can do work on board without being distracted and you’re able to travel solo or take along the family on a charter jet. Most charter flights can accommodate as many as twenty. If you travel as a part of a group, you can save a substantial amount of money when the cost is being divided.

Traveling by private business jet makes sense in many ways. It is super convenient, you have more privacy and much less stress. The next time you have to fly, check into chartering a private business jet-you will be glad you did!

Airline Tickets – To Insure or Not to Insure

All of the major travel agencies provide options for protecting your non-refundable ticket. However, that may not be what you need considering the limitations. More comprehensive travel insurance may fit your needs better.

After working hard for your vacation and looking forward to it for so long, what happens when you’ve purchased the least expensive non-refundable tickets and you have an unforeseen emergency that prevents you from making your trip? Unless you have purchased ticket-protector insurance, you’re probably stuck. Continental, Northwest and America West airlines as well as several travel web sites offer such insurance.

Now, you may still be stuck, depending on the particular policy and the situation that prevented you from making your flight. Travel expert and author, Ed Perkins, calls ticket-protector insurance a “lite” version of trip-cancellation and trip-interruption insurance. Perkins says, “Instead of buying insurance that covers all your bases, like your hotel, car rental or most anything else, you are solely protecting your flight.”

For years, several online travel companies have offered ticket-protector insurance. For about 4% of your ticket price you can be covered up to $3,000. However, before you purchase this insurance, you need to know exactly what is covered and what is not.

It is essential to understand exactly what the covered reasons are, as it could mean the difference between receiving a full refund and having to absorb the cost yourself. Covered reasons typically include medical emergencies, car accidents, terrorist attacks, airline delays or cancellations, natural disasters, death of traveler or family member, adverse weather, airline strikes and jury duty. Be careful, though, as those reasons may have narrower definitions than you would expect.

As an example, a sudden heart attack or debilitating injury would be covered. However, an existing condition such as epilepsy would not be covered even if you have a seizure two days before departure which prevents you from traveling. That condition is already being treated and therefore would not be covered under your ticket-protector insurance.

Adverse weather conditions do not include conditions that are “expected”. For example, if you are traveling to a hurricane-prone area and a Category 4 hurricane is predicted to hit your destination days before your arrival, you will not receive a refund unless the airline cancels the flight or the airport is closed.

While labor strikes are covered reasons, you already have some protection on that front. There is a law requiring airlines to honor competitors’ tickets in the event of a strike or shutdown. However, this law only applies in the United States. It does not cover international airports.

Critics of ticket-protector insurance argue that the coverage is too limited because unforeseen situations are very often not covered. If a person truly has a non-refundable, non-reusable ticket, the insurance may come in handy. However, no one knows their circumstances ahead of time and if there is a problem with the coverage, the insurance company usually wins.

Ticket-protector insurance should only be purchased under limited circumstances say consumer advisers. Airlines are sometimes criticized for prohibiting refunds and then selling insurance to provide those refunds. The airlines respond that providing the insurance gives travelers more choice.

So, is a traveler better off with ticket-protector insurance or more comprehensive travel insurance? While ticket-protector insurance covers only the flight, travel insurance generally covers all aspects of your trip. Chances are that whatever causes a person to miss their flight is also going to cause them to miss their whole trip, or at least necessitate changes across the board, i.e. car rental, hotel reservations, entertainment tickets, etc. A consumer must weigh all factors involved in making the decision on which insurance to purchase, if any.

Really Cheap Airplane Ticket – How To Get A Truly Low-Priced Airplane Ticket

The best place to look for a really cheap airplane ticket is online. Travel agencies can’t compete with discount ticket sites. Search online, for finding a cheap airline ticket, do a Google search (“cheap airfare to ….) or try any of the well-known travel sites. The internet is a great place to search for and compare airline rates.Include travel date and return date in your query so that you can get a specific quotation for your trip.

Because you are looking to get really cheap airline fares and possible discounts, you will have to know the ins

and outs of how airlines work. Here are some tips to help you on your way to finding cheap airline tickets so that you can travel in luxury on a budget:

The earlier you book a flight, the cheaper the airfare will be. Ahead of time booking can save you a lot of cash. If you are flexible as far as time is concerned, then make sure you make preparations way ahead of time. Most airlines offer special discounts for advanced booking. For a booking made late more will be charged. If you try to book a flight the day before you want to leave, the airlines will charge you the highest price imaginable.

On the other hand: Tickets at the last minute.

Last minute travel deals are the solution to a low-budget vacation that you may be looking for. One of the expensive parts of a quality vacation are the airline tickets to get to your destination. Looking for cheap airline travel, tickets can be very hard to find if you’re not looking in the right places and you never know from day to day which sites will find the cheapest flights.. Prices for airline tickets can fluctuate wildly. Check at least three places.

Seasonality.

The more the demand, the more expensive the airline tickets

will be. If demand for a travel destination is high, then you are bound to spend more money. Flying to a destination during peak seasons is a sure way to spend two to three times as much as during the other seasons.

Flexibility.

The more flexible you are, the better your chance of getting a really cheap plane ticket. Different departure and return dates. Try all options that are offered. Options like Courier flights, for example, can be a great deal.

Really Cheap Plane Ticket(s) – More tips

Check for package deals, where you pay for plane tickets and

your hotel room.

“Name Your Own Price”. Make your bid, and the airlines say yes

or no, depending on whether they have empty seats to fill. First look for the cheapest tickets you can find, then make a bid bid lower than that. If your bid is rejected, you can always go back to the best deal and book it.

A good way to find exceptional deals is to frequently surf the various web sites of your favorite airlines. Subscribe to their news-

letters and allow them to send you last minute deals via e-mail. In this way, tickets to numerous destinations will be found at the lowest possible airfare rates.

Private Jet Costs – Are There Cheap Private Jets?

There are many reasons for chartering a private jet and looking at the actual monetary value involved is only part of private jet costs. To know the overall cost of renting a private jet you must calculate factors in that are not specifically dollars, but often mean far more than money.

The two main reasons why people charter private jets are for emergencies either in the family or the business and to indulge in a dream holiday of a lifetime. Even in such circumstances it is necessary to accurately calculate private jet costs.

When an emergency situation arises there is often not enough time to go through the time consuming rituals of getting onto a commercial flight and running the risk of not being in time to deal with the situation needing your urgent attention. Being in time to deal with a family crisis is priceless and a missed business meeting can spell disaster for a company, so in these circumstances the cost of a private jet becomes immaterial.

Earning a good income is the goal of every person and mostly we work very hard to achieve this. The one thing many of us forget is that our very healthy bank balance is not the only important issue we need to balance that with our physical and mental wellbeing. It is a harsh reality that many people look back on their lives and realize that they were too busy providing for their old age or that rainy day that never came and they forgot to enjoy their lives. They never took time out to indulge in that dream holiday or jetted off to that romantic destination before it was too late.

Yes, do work out the arithmetic of costs per flight hour and flight expenses, this is the logical thing to do. Then think about being whisked away on that dream vacation in a private jet, flying in the lap of luxury with all your needs attended to by the crew who will endeavour to take care of your every wish. Then spending a wonderful time on vacation and afterwards being delivered home safe and sound with the minimum of fuss and no stress. Make the overall calculation and you will find that private jet costs are not so high after all.

Top 10 Comedy Films

So what is it exactly that distinguishes the good comedy films from the great? Is it their ability to endure, the way their humor creeps up on you or takes you by surprise? Maybe it’s a great script, perfect timing or one-liners that hit the mark every time? Whatever it is, great comedy films leave a lasting impression and have an ability to engage us. They allow us to lower our defenses and share in the joy and the pain of the characters, as we identify with their situations. Ultimately, truly great comedy allows us to laugh at ourselves.

10. There’s Something About Mary

Arguably the best Farrelly brothers movie to date, they take a story about stalkers and turn it into a comedy. Ted Stroehmann (Ben Stiller) still longs for his prom date Mary Jensen (Cameron Diaz) years after losing track of her following an unfortunate accident on prom night. He eventually decides to hire a private detective to track her down, the only problem being, that the private detective falls in love with her too. Seems like Mary is every man’s dream girl. This movie produced many classic scenes, some you have to see to believe.

9. Airplane!

Considered by many to be the classic slapstick comedy. Airplane! tells the story of Ted Striker, who has never been able to fly a plane since an “incident” in the war. Striker is forced into action when a mysterious disease (don’t order the fish) knocks out the crew. Airplane! is so jam-packed with jokes you’ll need to see it a few times to catch them all.

8. Meet the Parents

This movie takes a potentially awkward situation that most people can relate to and takes it to the extreme. Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) tries to impress his girlfriends parents, but the father-in-law to be (played by Robert De Niro) is an ex CIA agent and is very mistrusting of Greg. Everything Greg tries to do ends up with disastrous consequences from losing the families cat, to giving his future sister-in-law a black eye. You can’t help but cringe and laugh at the same time at Greg’s misfortunes.

7. Blades of Glory

Following a fight at a medal awards ceremony, champion skaters Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) are banned from competitive skating for life. Years pass and circumstances bring them together for another chance at the podium, but this time in the “men’s doubles”. The story follows their hilarious preparations for the event; all-the-while dogged by attempts from the brother/sister pairs team of the Van Waldenbergs to sabotage their efforts.

6. Coming to America

One of the last great Eddie Murphy movies before his return in the late 90s. Coming to America tells the story of Prince Akeem (Murphy) coming to America to find himself a wife who will love him for who he is after rejecting the idea of an arranged marriage. A fish out of water story, Akeem can’t help but act with dignity even when working at the local fast food restaurant. He soon finds the women of his dreams but will she love him when she discovers he is a Prince from a far away land? A great story with very funny scenes and lots of cameos to look out for.

5. Borat

The story centers on Borat, the Kazakhstani reporter sent to the US to prepare a report for the benefit of his countrymen back home. Things don’t quite go according to plan as Borat falls madly in love with Pamela Anderson after seeing her in Baywatch. Borat decides to go to California to meet and marry her and encountering all sorts of people and situations along the way. Told in classic road trip style, the many adventures of Borat are sometimes crude, but often hilarious at the same time. The most amazing thing is that Borat is taken at face value by virtually everyone he meets with hilarious and sometimes jaw-dropping results.

4. This is Spinal Tap

This is the classic “rockumentary” – a spoof of so many other on-the-road, rock ‘n roll documentaries. It tells the story of Spinal Tap, a washed up British rock band returning to the US for another tour. What we end up with is a hilarious send-up and sometimes a biting commentary on the rock ‘n roll world. The band goes through inevitable ups and downs through their tour after their latest album cover is deemed too racy and is completely blacked out. The band breaks up only to reform (in typical rock and roll fashion) and to make more money on yet another tour.

3. Groundhog Day

Phil Conners (Bill Murray) somehow gets stuck replaying the same day over and over again… Groundhog Day.  Like most people, at first it seems like fun, but after reliving the same day 100s of times, Phil becomes suicidal and tries to take his own life. After finding out he can’t die, he tries every conceivable way to kill himself. He eventually realizes this is pointless and starts to learn about the people and the town he’s stuck in and falls in love with his producer, Rita (Andie McDowell).

2. Sleeper

During a routine operation Miles Monroe (Woody Allen) is cryogenically frozen and then brought back to life 200 years later. The future looks bleak and is controlled by a big brother like government headed by “the Leader”. Monroe ends up joining the underground resistance with hilarious consequences. Perhaps the most memorable scene in the movie is when Miles “disguises” himself as an android. This film is noted for its more visual and slapstick gags than many of Woody Allens’s later movies.

1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Considered by many to be Monty Python’s finest work, the Holy Grail retells the classic story of King Arthur, but does away with most of the classic story. Instead, the king searches for knights to come to Camelot with him; along the way God appears to tell them to search for the Holy Grail. Their noble quest sees the majority of the knights killed off in funny ways until only two make it to the end. What happens there is one of the funniest and most absurd scenes ever filmed.
