Business Jets – The Boeing BBJ
The Boeing Business Jet, also known as the BBJ has developed a long-range corporate jets out of the 737-700 and 800. The plane, a joint venture between Boeing and General Electric, was a corporate version of the popular 737 airliner. The BBJ first flight on 4 September 1998.
The BBJ is a direct competitor to other large business jet. After the start was the Airbus ACJ and A319 from his cell business. The BBJ is in competition with the largestA320 Prestige, and the smaller A318 Elite, but with these competitors, the Boeing Business Jet is currently the largest production business jet market. The Embraer Lineage, the Bombardier Global Express and the Gulfstream G550 can be defined as a smaller competitor.
The BBJ has been developed to combine the advanced 737-700 aircraft with wings, fuselage and landing gear of the vehicle 737-800, add 3-10 abdominal auxiliary fuel tanks located in a hull that has a110FT 4in length, wingspan of 117ft 5in, a height of 41ft 3in. The BBJ 737 advanced LCD screen EFIS avionics package, Flightdeck, equipped with dual integrated GPS, TCAS, enhanced GPWS and Flight Dynamics head-up guidance system.
Two CFM International CFM56-7 turbofans power the BBJ, so that the development of a normal cruise speed of Mach 0.80. The maximum speed is Mach 0.82. At Mach 0.79, maximum capacity of the BBJ, the 5510-6200 nautical miles, depending on the the number of passengers and goods. The BBJ has a crew of two pilots. The aft cabin can accommodate 24 passengers, with a conference room or gym, or capable of up to 63 people. However, the typical configuration of a luxurious support structures, including a crew rest area, forward lounge, private suite with double bed and> Private bathroom with shower, 12 first class sleeper seats to 60 in height and four abreast, and behind kitchen and bathroom.
The BBJ2 started in 1999, is located on the stretched 737-800 airframe basis 19ft 2in longer than the BBJ. It also offers a larger cabin and more luggage space, but has slightly reduced range. Also comes with three to seven auxiliary belly fuel tanks. The BBJ3 is on the 737-900ER series, and together with the BBJ2and the BBJ does not contain any specific changes in the cell.
